taking a break to pack

This is for those of you wonderful people who support my handmade shop Aidie's Hideaway.  I can't even tell you how much I love that this little adventure of mine has grown into a business and just how much I appreciate all the people I have met along the way.
The whole thing just makes me smile.

I hope you all will be supportive when I announce that I am going to close the Etsy shop until May 1st for a much needed break.
Our family has decided to move and we hope to list our home next month.  For us, this will be a big move.  I am the fourth generation to own our 1/2 acre property here in Orange.  There is a lot to do between two homes and a two story workshop/garage that are all part of the property.  The workshop/garage is filled with generations of family history and I am finally going to be forced to go through not only my dad's things, but my great-grandfather's things.  I will have to decide what to keep and what to donate or sell.  And that is just one very small, although big to me, part of all that we must do before listing.

Now back to the shop... I will leave the Etsy shop open for the rest of today in case anyone out there was about to purchase something.  Once it is closed I will still be working... I have at least a week's worth of orders that need to be created and shipped.  The only orders that can still be placed during this time are from garland subscribers.  I will still create time to fill those orders as they come in via email. Lastly, if I get the itch and just have to create something during the shop closure, I will list it on Instagram as a flash sale item.

Thank you all for being so supportive of this little business of mine.

  1. There's a house for sale on our street, if you want to come live in Laguna Niguel! Also, I'm sure you already have a realtor, but if for some reason you need one, my dad is a realtor. I will be praying for you as you go through your dad's things and process leaving the home you shared together. I am sure that can't be easy.

    1. Thank you Mindy. I am at a great place with selling the property and know my dad would be in total favor of this choice. I know it is the right plan for our family... but the actual leaving part, saying goodbye, driving away and never coming back is a reality that I can't prepare for. I appreciate any prayers you have. As for Laguna Niguel... we have broadened our search to south county. We have been surprised how many house our there are in our price range! We have a realtor that is a long time city of orange realtor and family friend of Bryan's parents... otherwise I definitely would have asked you for your dad's info.

    1. Thank You! It is mainly exciting... also stressful and a little sad... but mainly good things like exciting. ;) We decided to NOT move to Texas so we will be staying local. Looking at all sorts of areas from Tustin out to RSM. Your in south county, right? My husband is loving the houses he is finding in many south county areas and all their community parks and awesome schools. =)
